Chavez Publicly Reveals his Support for FARC

On Friday during his state of the union address, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, called on Europe to take FARC (the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) off their terror lists. He explained that FARC is merely an insurgent group, who has clear objectives and that is to follow through with a "Bolivarian (socialist) project" FARC has been a major drug traffiking and kidnapping force, while it has been fighting the Colombian government for over forty years and has never proven that it deserves any respect -CNN
