American Jews Make up the Largest Religious Group to Oppose Iraq War

According to the latest Gallup Poll, the majority of American Jews polled strongly opposed the Iraq War 77%-21%. The majority of Catholics also oppose the war but with a much narrower gap 53%-46%. White Protestants were the only grouping that supports the war with 55% supporting to 43% oppose. Another interesting number to note is that the majority of Jews not affiliated with the Democratic Party, believe the war was a mistake 65%-38%. In 2003 and 2004 about 6 out of 10 Jews opposed the war. This is kind of interesting since the state of Israel is probably the biggest supporter of George Bush in the world.
